Dr. Ahn, Chan-il is a co-chair of Action for Korea United. He earned his PhD in political science from Konkuk University in Korea, becoming the first North Korean defector who received a PhD in Korea. Currently, he serves the World Institute for North Korea Studies as a director and World North Korean Defectors Coalition as president. He also works with the Ministry of National Defense as an advisor for national defense policies and is a advisory member of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.
